Girls Who Mahjong is currently offering private American Mahjong lessons in the Washington D.C. area for groups of 4-8 people. We provide all the supplies needed for the lesson—tiles, scorecards, mats, and racks. Every attendee will receive a GWM tips and reminders card to take home with them.
Private Lessons
We'll go over tiles, setup, rules, and actual gameplay — in a welcoming, low-pressure environment. No experience or supplies required.
What to Expect
Group Size
You can book with a group of 4–8 people. Mahjong is traditionally a 4-player game, so groups of 4 or 8 work best—but any size from 4 to 8 is welcome.
Private lessons are currently priced at $50 per person.
Payment is collected at the time of the lesson as one combined payment.
Pricing
Lessons take place at a location you provide: a home, library, or community space all work great, as long as there's room for the group.
A $20 travel fee applies for locations more than 15 miles from Capitol Hill, Washington DC.
Location
You’ll need to have one chair per person, plus table space to spread out the tiles. We can bring one card table and four chairs for a $10 add-on—just request it when booking.
